Mt. Loop Workshop

Traveling between the towns of Granite Falls and Darrington, in Washington State, approximately 60 miles north of Seattle, this remarkable road travels along three rivers, the South Fork Stillaquamish, the mountainous Sauk and the North Fork Stillaquamish. Its a wonderland of lush, fragrant, old growth forests, cascading rivers of pristine glacier melt, countless waterfalls, intimate swirling eddies, reflecting autumn colors, and soaring mountains, towering over quiet ponds and wetlands.
This magical place has been a favorite location and photographic experience of mine for over 40 years. It is like a dear old friend, whose moods and expressions I know oh so well. The highway and adjacent roads provide close access to all of the most stunning locations that it offers. As such, it represents a remarkable opportunity for a photographer, in a relatively small geographic area, to access, explore and capture a wide variety of subject matter.
